Syllabus for Art II,III,& IV
Purpose:
To engage in the creative human aesthetic process. Students will learn how to “think like an artist”.

Sketchbook (Hard Back or Spiral) *Please no taped edge flip sketch pads

Kneadable eraser or vinyl eraser

Presentation of Project
Student will have formulated an idea based on a given theme.
Student will provide evidence of research and visual research
Student will provide sketches showing a variety of compositional and stylistic choices
Student will provide a written rational for their work “Artist Statement”.
Process Critique
Students will discuss each other’s work in verbal and written form with the intent of offering insight and alternate perspective.
Final Critique
Students will discuss and determine each work’s effective interpretation of the theme.
Expectation
Each student is expected to research and formulate ideas outside the classroom. Preparation and a well thought out idea are crucial keys to the success.
