Syllabus for Watercolor
Purpose:
To introduce high school students to the medium and technique of watercolor.
*Students will be paint outdoors on a regular basis. Please wear appropriate clothes. When in doubt wear layers and a comfortable pair of tennis shoes.

Plein aire painting
Abstract Symbolism
Object study
Famous Painter Presentation
Landscape painting
Still Life painting
Self Portrait painting
Presentation of Project
Student will have formulated an idea based on given project guidelines.
Student will provide evidence of research and visual research
Student will provide sketches showing a variety of compositional and stylistic choices
Critique
Students will discuss each other’s work in verbal and written form with the intent of offering insight and alternate perspective.
Students will discuss and determine each work’s fulfillment of project guidelines.
Expectation
Each student is expected to research and formulate ideas outside the classroom.
Preparation and a well thought out idea are crucial keys to the success.
